Summer Thus Far!

I am in the process of downloading my photos from my phone to this here computer- so while doing that I realized a few things.  1.  I don't take very good pics.  2.  My kids get a hold of my phone way to often and I find random pictures taken.  I especially like the one of Gavin's undies on the floor while he is pooping.  He is such his Dad and likes to either read or play on the phone while sitting on the throne for 20 (or more) minutes.  (side note- he told me this morning that his feet were asleep and felt funny because he sat on it for so long.  Lovely.)  Anywho, it is our first few weeks of summer.  Official.  It has been a busy one, last Friday and Saturday we were at 4 different pools- my kids are official guppies.  Love it!  We have done a ton, besides a lot of pool time, pool time at our house, get togethers, play dates, gym time, birthdays (and of course parties for them), soccer and our new favorite- biking.  I finally got my bike outfitted with Sloan's seat on back, bell, basket and of course streamers.  Yesterday Gavin, Sloan and I went on a little over 2 miles.  Gavin did great.  He loved it and Sloan.....  Well she thinks it is the best thing ever.  I looked back at one point and she had her arms out like she was flying.  A D O R A B L E!  Here is our summer thus far in pictures:

Sloan on meltdown 20 of the day- it was 9am

Lazing on the couch watching cartoons in our jammies!

Picnic at the park - with our sunnies on.  So cool!

Goggles, nuff said
I am trying to do our San Fran trip also- but am being called downstairs to wrangle or kill a spider or ten.  Not sure.  But Gavin just asked me how you know if they are "the good spiders or the bad ones?"  Great.

Sighhhh.....

Sorry for the lack of blogs lately.  Our past 2-3 weeks have been NON-STOP!  After our fun and exciting trip to San Francisco, which I will blog about and put up some pics.  I did the Bay to Breakers (so so so fun) and saw a TON of naked people (most did the walk- I am  still trying to figure out where they put their bibs...).  Don't worry I won't post those pics!  Ha!  We had so much fun and did so much sight seeing, walking, drinking, some eating and just enjoying San Francisco with each other and friends.  I have never really felt like a tourist there, and I have been there about a dozen or so times.  My sister lived there for 8 or so years.  So while visiting, we didn't do your normal touristy stuff.  Which is great, but I have never had to stay at a hotel, etc.  So this was nice to do your typical touristy stuff.

Anywho, we were home for a few days and then bam, I got wiped out by the flu.  It was lovely.  Fever, chills, all that fun stuff.  I recovered enough for Memorial weekend, which was jammed packed.  Then prep for Gavin's end of the year party, which was this past Saturday.  Too much fun!  This week is Gavin's first official week off of school, so I am hoping to veg out all week and get some posts done.  Even though we do have a play date Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday.  Soccer starting Tuesday and a sleep over with his cousin at Grammy's house on Wednesday night.  going to the pool on Friday.  Also a birthday party this weekend and possibly hosting another get together?  Who knows.  I also have 2 ladies night out.  Unsure if going to both or neither.  We will see!  I may need sleep!  Yea, summer is here!

**Ok, I just re-read this, um, how many times can I put tourist/y into one paragraph?  Well obviously 3 times.  So sorry about that, maybe I was on a weekend hangover thingy?  Or maybe super exhausted?  Or sick of hearing my children fight about EVERY SINGLE THING.  What, you sat by me on the couch?  Well that gets you a fist to the noggin.  Or you put your face to close to my face- HEAD BUTT!  I already told Gavin he is going back to school if this continues!)

Happy Mother's Day!

A big Happy belated Mother's Day to those that are Moms!  In one word, my day yesterday.....PERFECT.  The past few Mother's Day have not been my most favorite days.  The reasons were not because my kids were being stinkers, or I didn't get a card.  But from outside areas, like the restaurant we made a reservation at that was awful and our wait staff was the worst I have ever had & I have not stepped foot back into that restaurant.  Or the year I forgot to put sunscreen on my neck, shoulders, chest, etc and got a blistering sunburn in a VERY ODD formation because of the dress I was wearing. That kind of stuff.  But this year, was quite different.  I started dropping hints a month or so ago about what I wanted for my day.  A cruiser bike!  Gavin has been very adamant that he rides his bike everywhere we go.  I mean all the time he wants to ride it.  I  can't always keep up with him when I am pushing the stroller and have a dog that is trying to drag me the other way.  So I was thinking, a bike, that would be good!  Guess what?  I  got it!  Yea!  It is soooooooo pretty.  And I literally hopped on the bike and then wondered, "how in the hell do I ride a bike?"  I think it has been about 15-20 years since I have been on a bike.  That was not stationary or in a spin class.  But one outside in fresh air.  I was like a kid in the candy store.  I did several cruises into the cul-de-sac and in the afternoon Gavin and I went on a mile or so ride.  SO FUN!

Our whole day was great, we hosted the Kunz's in the morning for brunch.  My husband did EVERYTHING.  Made the casseroles the day before, cooked all the bacon, set the table, got down the champagne flutes, made coffee, etc.  Then, after brunch, HE DID ALL THE DISHES.  Sigh.  Best day ever.  I think everyone had a good time.  After the Kunz's headed home- Gavin and I went for our ride while Sloan took a nap.  We then all laid on the couch and took a few catnaps.  Got back up, I made a cake (with my cute helper Gavin) and we headed to Boulder to celebrate with my Mom.  A lovely bbq with the family and the kids got to play with their cousins.  The kids were great, my husband was awesome (did I mention he let me stay at the neighborhood party Saturday night late - while he relieved the babysitter early and LET ME SLEEP IN ON SUNDAY???).  My gift, BEST GIFT EVER!  I can't wait to get the seat on the back so Sloan, Gavin and I can  go tour the neighborhood.  But the most perfect part of yesterday?  Gavin saying his favorite part of the day was "going on a bike ride with his Mommy."

Something....

Something is seriously going on with me right now.  I really really - I MEAN REALLY, am craving a baby.  Not necessarily to have one, even though I like to joke with Greg and give him mini heart attacks when I tell him I want another one!  But to hold one and snuggle one and love on one.  I have been looking at a lot of the kids baby pictures and clothes.  AND MAN, I really miss the baby stage.  The smell, the tiny fingers, the tiny toes to nibble on, the adorable clothes, the feeding, the coos and even the cries.  I know - weird right?  I never really went through this before.  But right now it is like my clock IS TICKING SO LOUD.  Greg has suggested we rent one, so if you know of anyone who just had a baby and wants a night out, let me know!  I am up for some baby babysitting.  Here are a few pics  of my babies, when they were cute, didn't talk back, hit, tell me no, mock me, etc.

A few things, Sloan is very big into telling me No & hitting. Joy! But she did go poop in the froggy yesterday for Grammy.  I cried when my Mom told me.  How can I miss both kids going in the froggy for the first time????  Ugh!  See, I cried, just like I started crying when I was looking at the pictures I wanted to put above.  I may be losing it - like big time.  Remember, baby rental.  If you know of anyone....

***My son, my daughter, my husband and myself are addicted to Somebody that I used to know by Gotye.  We listen to it about 30 times a day.  They both love to sing out the chorus.  It is hilarious.

Randomness

My lovely lilac bushes, I have 5 huge ones- they looked and smelled so wonderful.  I already miss them.

Below is the kiddos making a pyramid on Daddy.  Very cute.

I said a few posts back that I would take some pictures of the dogs.  Um, lets be honest- I rarely take pictures of my OWN CHILDREN.   So the dogs?  Not so much, and I have to say-I bring out the camera and Crash takes off like a bat out of hell.  Seriously he does, you would think that he believes that it will hurt him or even worse, make him look unattractive!  So today it is raining - which is super lovely.  And I do mean that.  Sometimes after a big, HUGE, fun, tiring weekend like we had.  It is nice to just veg out and watch a movie, do a blog about randomness, read a lot, bake a little (I have choco chip/banana bread baking right now - YUM!).  Anyway, so the dogs are inside and being lazy bones also, so i whipped out my cell phone and snapped some pics of them.  Also downloaded some of the kid pics too.  So here is a blog of my cell pics.  Yea!

Here is the dogs, Some action shots and of course them looking cute as
pie.  I have no idea why, but all the sudden my pics are being weird and so is my paragraphs.  Oh well.
Here are some randomness of Sloan deciding to read books on Daddy.  And of course taking a nap in her "babies bed."  She loves this thing and plays with it all the time.  Made by my grandfather when I was a child, so glad my Mom kept it!

Happy Rainy Monday!

Motorcycle Mania!

Since the weather has been so nice lately, we have spent a lot of time outdoors.  That is great in itself, but also for Gavin to try out his riding skills.....ALONE.  I can't believe I am allowing it, but he is allowed to ride his bike by himself.  ONLY in our backyard.  He  goes about 1 mile an hour - but is loving it.  Sloan is very jealous and will run behind him trying to catch him.  Of course Greg is right there and won't let her get too close.  Because lets be honest, how slow he is going she can almost catch him.  Here are some pics of my little Man on his motorcycle.

My son is very tall for his age, but seeing him on this bike makes him look small!  Yikes!

****Please note, 2 posts in ONE WEEK!  That is like a miracle!****

Easter Eggstravaganza!

Our Easter was wonderful this year!  The weather was gorgeous and the kids all had a ball.  We had a great turn out and of course lots of yummy food and Mimosas!  The kids were up VERY EARLY Sunday morning, but we made them hang out in bed watching cartoons for an hour.  I don't think the Easter Bunny would like to be up at 5 after a night delivering baskets all around the world- especially after he (or she) hid about 80 in the  backyard at 10 at night.  She was quite worried that someone might call the police on her when she was  only using a head lamp for light.  And Mr. Easter Bunny was in the garage putting together the Kunz kids gift- per the instructions said would take 1 hour for 1 person and instead took 5 hours and 2 people.  Nuff said- everyone needed sleep!

Here is us decorating eggs on Friday with Mom and Marv.  It was fun and the kids really liked taking crayons and coloring on the eggs before popping them in the colors.  Gavin was getting very creative.

Now onto the fun part- hunting them all down in the house- Sloan was very into it this year, as she should be we have been practicing hiding and finding eggs since February.  Yes you read that right, my son loves doing this OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN.  (I was so done, that Monday after Easter I immediately took down all Easter decorations and packed up all the eggs and baskets and put them away.) And then they get to find their baskets which were hidden in the garage....

Here is the rest of our day in pics.  We had a good friend of Greg's and his parents bring his  train out for the kids.  Biggest hit of the whole day- I think it ran for about 2 1/2 hours.  We had it a few years ago and the kids loved it so much.  It was a great day- fun for the kids and adults!  I remain undefeated in Bags, but Greg can't say the same for Horseshoes!

I love the pictures of Sloan on the train all happy, getting tired and then conking out.  She looks so cute and was so exhausted!  It was a great time and I am so happy to not see any plastic eggs for another year!
