What is up with the WEATHER?

This is what we had last week.....8 or so inches in a few hours. Granted we loved it, now everything is coming in such a lovely green! But really, here was part of our week- last week....
Gavin was even dressed appropriately with all of Daddy's snow stuff on.....And now, today we are going to be up to 78! What snow? All of that snow is melted and we have done nothing but play outside lately. Which is great, we have had a little guest the past few days, our neighbor Blake. He is Gavin's official driver, they cruise around between our houses and then of course stop and get under the truck and "fix things" with their tools. It is very cute.

Of course Gavin and Greg had to take a ride in this fun thing. Gavin loved it! I think Greg loved it a little too much.......... We have officially enrolled Gavin in Preschool beginning July 1st. We, ok me, are really looking forward to this! We would like it to start a little earlier, but he has to be 2 1/2 and potty trained. They are letting him in a month early as it is, so he can be somewhat acclimated to it before the baby comes. Greg and I were very impressed with the school and can't wait for him to start. My little boy is growing up! Yikes!

Happy St. Patty's Day to YOU!

Looking cool today in his new shades!

What a beautiful St. Patrick's Day in Denver! Gavin and I just returned from the Zoo. It was beyond crowded! I guess everyone had the same thought I did, nice weather = Zoo time. We stayed about 2 1/2 hours and were ready to hit the road. We saw pretty much every animal we could except the Lions and Tigers. For some reason we skipped right over those. Oh well.
Gavin's cool fro'

Our St. Patty's day started on Saturday actually. With me bullying Greg into going downtown for the parade. The very first time Greg and I have ever gone to it. Yes, I even lived downtown for awhile and yet, never once made the parade! It was once again a beautiful day and Gavin had a ton of fun. He actually got to have his very first sucker. Special day indeed! We stayed almost 2 hours and it may have been half over- it is a very long parade. Gavin was very fascinated with all the motorcycles (of course) and old cars. He got a little afraid of the red headed leprechauns and the giant clown looking thing (see pics). I don't blame him, I am not a fan of clowns either. I got a little afraid of the steer that were in the line-up with no real way to keep them in line. Those cowboys must be really good. We are definitely putting this on our yearly calender- next year we are just going to make others go with us & come decked out in green.
Greg's birthday was great. He got every thing he wanted..........food wise! Steak, taters and asparagus with chocolate covered strawberries for desert. Gavin had his first one that night and you can tell by the pictures that it was VERY MESSY. Overall I think it was a good birthday for him and he is now finally my age! Yea!

Hope everyone has a safe and fun St. Patty's day & got out to enjoy the weather. One more day of nice before the snow comes in!

Sledding, Snotty Noses & Sleepless Nights

That pretty much sums up our past week and a half. It has been a JOY. A JOY I TELL YOU.
Gavin sleeping on the floor next to Crash, after rolling off the couch and remaining asleep. This was one of his worst days being sick! Crash of course wanted to take care of him, while I laughed that he slept through falling off the couch. I am a mean Mom.

The sledding post was supposed to be done last week, as we went to Steamboat 2 weekends ago, but I had a sick boy up there and then part of last week. We thought he was on the road to recovery.....then both Greg and I got sick. Now he is back to coughing and constant nose running. I don't know who has it worse, me or him. I have officially gone through ALL the Kleenex boxes in our house. We just got back from Target, I think I bought 12 boxes along with some more medicine. It is a joy. I sound like I have cotton swabs up my nose!

Daddy and Gavin on the last trip up the hill sledding. One of them looks happy...

Back to Steamboat- we had a blast. Well I did. Gavin got sick the Friday we left so we had a rough night and really no naps the entire time up there. So he was very much a Daddy's boy. He liked the sledding- not as much as everyone else, but really how excited can one person get when they are sick and have a fever? Here are some pics of our festivities:

Greg & Gavin, I love that Gavin's eyes are closed! But he is smiling!
Marv & Frankie wrecking at the bottom- too much fun!Gavin with Daddy's glasses on- it was bright and beautiful out!Jen rolling off her sled, she was hauling.Making snow angles, or is Jen's case, snow devils.....Auntie Jill and Jack flying down the mountain.

The very end of the day for us, what a gorgeous Steamboat day!

We had a wonderful trip, the parties for Aunt Jill were great, she is the last Hogoboom girl to retire, so what else are they to do? Well head to Arizona with a bunch of friends and whoop it up. Yes, My Mom and her sisters are now Snow Birds, enjoying the 80 degree weather while we woke to snow on the ground! I of course forgot to take pics of the party Saturday night, but all I have to say is I have never seen more people over the age of 50 do Keg stands. And as the pregnant one, I am a good witness, plus I was the one putting the nozzle in every one's mouth. The retiree did 2. 'Nuff said.

Today is my Hubby's 35th birthday- so a big Happy Day to you Honey! Gavin and I have been busy, between blowing our noses, to make you some birthday goodies! Don't worry I won't let him help with the chocolate covered strawberries!

IT IS A.....

GIRL! If you can't tell by my new blog setup! We found out yesterday, well 90% sure, that we are having a girl! Very exciting, now I don't have to pressure Greg into having a 3rd. I am heading out of the house right now to buy some girl things!

Finally....

After 4 years of living in our house and over 4 years of complaining about Greg's bedroom set, I finally got my wish and GOT A NEW ONE! Yea! It is lovely and to be honest- Greg picked it out. I was so surprised. His taste has changed so much since we have been together.... For the better of course! The bed is a little large, so tall that I am seriously tempted to get a step stool for my side to get up into bed. Poor Gavin had just mastered getting on our old bed and then we go and get a taller one! Oh well. Here are some pics of my lovely new furniture:

Our next adventure is to get new bedding. That is a whole work in itself. I will blog later this week about our trip to Steamboat this past weekend. But for now I have a super sick kid on my hands. He is actually right now sitting on my lap while I type with one hand.....
