Sigh....

My son slept until 8:20 this morning. He is the best boy ever...... unlike Elvis who woke me up at 7:15.

Randomness

A lot of people ask, "why isn't there more pics of Crash on the blog, facebook, in general?" Well Crash is definitely our "shy" child. Once you get the camera out he is on the move. I tried to get a pic of him with the bunny ears on and he took off like a bat out of hell. Seriously, that dog has some freakish intuition- "that crazy lady is going to make me look like an idiot like she does to Elvis and I am not going to fall victim to her craziness." Or something along those lines, he is very smart!

Plus I take a lot of pics of Gavin and he is definitely in love with both dogs, but Elvis allows Gavin to sit on him, love him, pat him, squish him, etc. Crash is getting a little better, today he let Gavin come up behind him and pat his bum with both hands for a few minutes. THIS IS HUGE. Crash is very loving to Gavin, but only when it is on his terms. Like when he is done with lunch, Crash will lick Gavin's entire face clean, plus the back of his head, his hands, legs, pretty much anywhere he can get to.

Today Gavin would seek out Elvis, wherever he was, Gavin would sit on him, follow him around, sit on him again. Poor Elvis just sat there and took it like a champ. He didn't seem to mind. Please note the Gatorade bottle in his hand, that is his new favorite thing. He gathers about 3 or 4 a day from the recycle bin and plays with them ALL DAY LONG.

The Easter Bunny brought Gavin this fancy Dinosaur chair. He absolutely loves it and sits in it all day long. He also loves to drag it around and pile things on it. Today he tried to put in ON ELVIS and then sit on it.

Please note, once again he has his Gatorade bottle in his hand:

Tonight was bath night, so once again the bottle is in the SHOWER WITH HIM, I do draw the line at going to bed with it! He of course loves his doggy towel - so had to snap some photos of him streaking around the house.

Right now he is working on I think his 10th or 11th tooth. He is not happy when I try and stick my fingers in there. He is very interested in Lego's right now- he will pull them out of the toy box, bring them to me and stack them. Then take them off one by one return them to the toy box and repeat. About 10 times a day. I am the official Lego holder. He also likes to stick them in his Gatorade bottle, of course. A few days ago he and I were out in the back after our huge rain and he decided to make a run for it into the mud. FUN. He ended up getting stuck in the mud (I think I actually heard his shoes get suctioned into the mud), falling over and getting covered in it. LOVELY. I grabbed him and promptly got covered also, took off all that was muddy and watched while he went to town in the dogs bowl. While I was throwing out the muddy water he took a stroll on the patio and fell through the window well grate. With no shoes on, his foot went straight down and scratched up his leg pretty good. Luckily the boy is tough and only cried for about a second. Gavin is absolutely adorable and actually grabbed my hand yesterday and put it on his back to tickle him. HE IS SO MY CHILD! He has the best laugh and has given me some awesome Mommy moments lately. Today he sat with me and let me love on him, tickle him and smooch him for about 20 minutes. He now loves to "give kisses" and it is so adorable when he does it. Also his new thing is flexing his muscles. It is very comical. He is definitely a ham! OK, I am done and must go to bed, he will probably be up early ready to rock and roll.

Painting, And Carpet, And Cleaning Oh MY!

The painting and carpet is finally done. Well, lets be honest- the painting that we had planned to do. Now of course we are in the mode to do the bathrooms, kitchen, etc. But now maybe only one room at a time. Instead of, lets pull up the carpet, paint the entire living room, hallways and our bedroom, change out all light switches, outlets, beezwax the baseboards, clean the light fixtures, blinds and windows, all in a weekend. Seriously, I think we may have pushed it a little. I don't think we thought about how the dogs or Gavin could not be downstairs walking with the tack strips. Trying to keep Gavin cooped up into one room is NOT FUN. The boy needs his space. But in the end, the paint looks great and the new carpet is wonderful, hides everything! I absolutely love my orange walls, they actually make the room come together. I have posted some pics of before and after, what a little paint does for a room! This is our bedroom, pics before, during and after.

The Living Room (With of course pics of Gavin on the VERY TALL ladder, which he was fascinated with and kept trying to climb):

These 2 pics just make me laugh, the one of Greg was taken at about midnight after we had been out for dinner and drinks- but alas, came home to do some more work! The other picture is our dining room, where everything was stashed, it was packed full of crap!

This past weekend we went up to a cabin outside of Jefferson (near South Park) with Mom, Marv and the Alexander's. It was a lot of fun, not such great weather, but we managed to do some rock climbing, jumping on the tramp, running around!

And of course we colored some eggs and ate a ton of chocolate and jelly beans. Gavin was so sick of me putting those ears on him that he has tried numerous times to throw them away. Granted right now, he tries to throw everything in the trash, but especially those darn ears! Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!

A little teaser

Sorry have not blogged the new pics of the house, still waiting on a few things to be done. Here are some pics for now. We are heading up to a cabin in the mountains in a few hours for the weekend. Have a Happy Easter!

Snow Days

Last week we had our annual "spring snow", which is always wonderful, Greg has the luxury to work from home on those days, so it is nice to just hunker down with all my boys. It was pretty crazy for a few hours and I think the whole state was on alert. We stayed in all day, enjoying our cozy home before all hell broke loose! But that is another story and another blog for a later day........

On Friday Greg had taken the day off to prep for our main floor getting new carpet and paint. Gavin and I got bundled up and ventured outside to play in the snow. That consisted of me pulling him for about 10 feet on the sled, then him wanting to go get his wagon and ride in that. Not too keen on the sledding if there isn't a major hill to go down I guess! It was actually a gorgeous day and the dogs basked in the sun and Gavin and I marched up and down the paths that had some snow on them, but not a ton. He loved it, except for when he would fall. Didn't like his little hands to get cold! And of course he wouldn't wear any gloves. The dogs of course enjoyed the snow and loved playing it!

Gavin has been sick for a few days, had some major tummy issues (that is my nice way of saying that he is spewing something funky from his rear end) and on Saturday night, woke up and puked his little guts out. He of course was at Grandma and Papa's house when he did this, for some reason he loves to get super sick over there! They said he was a little freaked out about the puking thing, he really has never done it and now that he is eating EVERYTHING, I am sure it wasn't pretty. He either has a little flu or another tooth coming in. He is up to 7 teeth now and loves the flash them in his little sly grin to all the ladies. He is very much a flirt and now I understand why Greg likes to take him places! He is a chick magnet!

Right now I think he is a little freaked out with our house being in shambles, the dogs being gone and he not being able to be downstairs for the past 2 days. Luckily today he was able to play freely, but none of our furniture is back in as of yet. Hopefully tonight we will get the majority of it moved and maybe sleep in our own bed tonight! Oh the joy! Once all furniture is in and the paint is done I will post pics of all the work that has been done. One last thing, I think painting is the worst thing in the world and I would give up wine for a WHOLE month to pay for painters the next go round!
